Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Irine Kurdadze attended the seminar of the dance class teachers. 50 teachers, who were selected via the competition, will teach Georgian dances in the pilot schools of Tbilisi after the seminars. The program will be launched in all schools of Georgia from 2011-2012 academic years in the frame of the National Curriculum.

The new subject will be developed by the initiative of the President. The National Center for Teacher Professional Development of MES announced competition for the dance class teachers in order to give the schoolchildren dance classes.

Members of the Selection Board were Giorgi Ushikishvili, Pridon Sulaberidze, Revaz Chanishvili, Nino Sukhishvili, Tengiz Utmelidze and Ucha Dvalishvili.

National Center for Teacher Professional Development will provide the teachers with the workshops. The main topic of the training will be teachers’ professional standard, National Curriculum, school management and structure, inclusive education, Codes of Ethics and etc.
