Natia Jokhadze, Director of the National Curriculum and Assessment Center under the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia held a meeting with Tbilisi Private Schools' Principals in European School. The aim of the meeting was introduction of the new curriculum 2011-2016.

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia Ortwin Hennig opened a German Educational Fair at the Youth Palace. The fair presented German educational programs and projects that are implemented in Georgia.

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini attended a seminar for the Biology teachers.  Interactive teaching methods in Biology was the topic of the seminar and up to 60 teachers from Tbilisi and different regions took part in it.

Among the organizations were: Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research, USAID, UNICEF, World Vision International, Save the Children, Every Child, Open Society Foundation, Foundation” First Step”,  “Children  of Georgia” , Embassy of Poland to Georgia.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Irine Kurdadze and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. Ortwin Hennig handed over German language diplomas to 83 students of PASCH schools in Georgia.  The event was organized within the frame of the German Days in Georgia.

A process of authorization of the private schools begins and the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini continues his visits to the private schools.  This time, Minister visited “European School” and personally informed the school staff about the conditions of the authorization.

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili opened newly constructed school in the village of Vaziani. The construction of school was finished in 2011. 171 schoolchildren study and 21 teachers teach at Vaziani Public School.

A process of authorization of the private schools will begin soon. In this regard, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited Georgian American High School “Vaziani+” and got familiar with the school, its infrastructure and learning process. Minister also met the 12th grade schoolchildren.

Process of Teacher certification is underway and is voluntary till 2014. In every July teachers are given opportunity to take a test in corresponding subject and a test in professional skills. Teachers, who successfully pass the tests, will get a surplus to the salary with the amount of 75 GEL.

The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili and the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia  Dimitri Shashkini visited several educational institutions in Kutaisi. First, the President paid a visit to Kutaisi Professional College and got familiar with the ongoing construction works of the learning centers in the yard of the college, he also got acquainted with the material technical equipments used in the learning process.
