Registration for vocational education programs ends on September 27
The last day for the registration is 27 September of current year. Every day, hundreds of students register for their desired programs at the state vocational institutions and various community colleges across the whole country. There are programs, where the amount of registered people on a certain program exceeds the acceptable contingent.

Electronic chess program will be implemented at schools
Today, on 23 September, tripartite memorandum was signed on, which includes implementing electronic chess programs at schools. Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Tamar Sanikidze (The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia), Tariel Khechikashvili (Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs), and Giorgi Giorgadze (The president of Chess Federation).

Tbilisi #151 public school is preparing for the new academic year
By the new academic year, almost 1200 students of Tbilisi #151 public school will have renovated gym with the modern facilities. Renovation has been done with the school halls, conference room, and the library. For the students with the special needs has been built the universally designed pavements, and the adapted gym.

Industrial innovation laboratories will be arranged in community colleges (FABLAB)
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia within the cooperation with Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia is planning to establish Industrial Innovation laboratories (FABLAB) throughout the community colleges. Another workshop was held on this topic.

Preparation for the new academic year
The preparation for the new academic year is in its active phase. In most of the public schools infrastructural projects are underway. Basically, current guidance books sorting is completed and along with the new academic year all pupils here as well as in other public schools will receive a full package of textbooks.

First-graders registration s additional deadlines announced
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia determined deadlines for First-graders registration from April 23, 2015 to July 11, 2015 for 2015-2016 academic years. The registration was divided in 3 stages and nowadays 46600 first-graders are registered in public and private schools of Tbilisi.

103th school in numerous Metromsheni settlement is being built. The Tbilisi city hall is building a new school designed for 1000 students instead of the demolished old one. A 2015 bachelor’s graduation ceremony has been held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Around 3000 students degreed bachelor’s department at STU in 2014-2015. Among them there are graduates of Philosophy and Educational Sciences Faculty which was founded in 2014. The faculty has celebrated its first graduation this year.

Minister of education and science Tamar Sanikidze met Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State Phatima Sumar and othr representatives of the corporation. The goal of the project was a discussion of programs under the second $140 million Compact between the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

Yet another international success of Georgian pupils
Members of Georgian national team in mathematics (6 participants) have returned from 56th International Mathematics Olympiad 2015 (Thailand, Chiang Mai) with 4 medals and 1 diploma. Zaur Meshveliani (N199 Komarov Public School in physics and mathematics) has won silver medal. It should be noted that in previous Olympiad he also was awarded with silver medal.

The "Ivlita Library" opened in Chokhatauri
On July 19, on a birthday of Ivlita Jibuti, who perished during a disaster in Tbilisi, the library of her name opened in Chokhatauri. The library was created with the help of initiative and efforts made by Media-house "Guria news", National Parliamentary Library of Georgia and youth.

Center for parasport promotion opened
Tamar Sanikidze, Misinter of Education and Science of Georgia, attended a ceremony of parasport promotion center opening in Tbilisi. The centre was inaugurated by Tbilisi Mayor David Narmania and Tariel Khechikashvili, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia. Yet another ultramodern sport complex was added to Tbilisi.

Shota Rustaveli Foundation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia from April 21, 2015 is working with new Charter. For the first time, school sports Olympiad was held in current year. Public school teams from 11 cities - Tbilisi, Batumi, Mtskheta, Gori, Rustavi, Telavi, Akhaltsikhe, Kutaisi, Ozurgeti, Zugdidi and Ambrolauri - were participating in Olympic competitions.
