Georgian tenor Badri Maisuradze was born in Tbilisi on November 13, 1966.
He graduated from Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Cinema in Georgia and subsequently in 1989, he graduated from Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatory (class of Gocha Bezhuashvili). Badri Maisuradze continued his studies in Milan and Moscow.
In 1989-1990 he completed his internship at the Moscow Grand Theater under the direction of Zurab Sotkilava.
In 1989-1993 he was a soloist of Tbilisi Zakaria Paliashvili Opera and Ballet Theater. He made his debut in the opera "Mindia" by Otar Taktakishvili, at Tbilisi Opera House, in 1990.
In 1994 Badri Maisuradze became a soloist at the Moscow Grand Theater, and since 2002 he has been a professor at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre.
Badri Maisuradze has won numerous prestigious international competitions, including the Francisco Vinnias International Vocalist Competition (Spain) and the Jus Biorling International Competition (Sweden). He is a Knight of the International Order of Friendship.
Badri Maisuradze's international career began in 1993 - at the Royal Opera House in Liege, Belgium, where he played the role of the false Dimitris in the Boris Godunov's Mussorgsky Opera. Throughout his long and successful career, he has collaborated with well-known conductors, including Seiji Odzawa, Zubin Meta, Daniel Oren, Antonio Guadanio, Marcello Viot, Mauricio Barbachin, Peter Ferenci, Carlo Ritz, Arvo Volmer, Alexander Vedernikov, Mauricio Nacionalio, Mauricio Benin, Giorgio Morand, Nello Santi, Lawrence Foster, Jansug Kakhidze, Givi A. Azmaiparashvili, and Odyssey Dimitriadi and so on.
Badri Maisuradze is a member of the jury of such prestigious international contests as: The International Voices of Busseto Competition, Paris Vincenzo Bellini Competition, Galina Vishnevskaya Vocalist Competition, Melbourne International Vocalist Competition, and the Opera Musician Competition.
Furthermore, he is the Chairman of the OPERA CROWN Jury of the Tbilisi International Vocalists Competition.
Badri Maisuradze was a consultant for the Buseto Verdi Theater, Puccini Festival, Korean National Opera, Hong Kong Opera, St. Petersburg Mihailovski Theater, as well as ART FESTIVAL (Prague and Umbria) and Mistislav Rostropovich.
Since November 2016, Badri Maisuradze has been the Artistic Director of Tbilisi Zakaria Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theater.
In 2019, under his leadership, the Verdi Festival was launched in Georgia.
He is fluent in Georgian, Italian, Russian and English.
