The world's first sand games have been officially opened
The opening ceremony of the world's first sand games was held in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The event was hosted by the Doha Cultural Center Amphitheater. The organizers introduced the viewers to the culture of Qatar and revived the history of the country.

The Council of Europe is implementing a project to combat sport manipulation in Georgia
The Council of Europe is conducting a pilot study to assess the risks of manipulation of sports events. The organization selected four countries for the study. Georgia was included in the list along with Norway, Belgium and Portugal.

Another great success of Georgian students on the international arena
The third European Youth Olympiad in Informatics ended in Maribor, Slovenia, where Georgian students won 4 medals, 1 silver (George Nadareishvili) and 3 bronze (Iakob Rigvava, Giorgi Chkhaidze, Erekle Khomasuridze). All four students are from the Komarov School.

Georgian boxers have won 15 medals at the European School Championship
On August 4-11, the European Boxing Championship among the school students was held at the Volleyball Arena in Digomi. 316 athletes from 30 countries participated in the European Championship. Georgian students won the International Informatics Olympiad
A team of four students from Komarov's Physics and Mathematics Public School # 199 in Tbilisi won three medals at the 31st International Informatics Olympiad: Nikoloz Birkadze - gold, and Teimuraz Toloraia and Bakar Gamesardashvili won bronze medals. Giorgi Chakvetadze is Georgia's best player
Giorgi Chakvetadze, a current player at the Georgian national football team and Belgian "Genk", became the best player of the 2018/2019 season. Chakvetadze was named best out of 79 sports journalists participating in the survey. Head of Sport Development Department Irakli Dolaberidze also congratulated Chakvetadze and awarded him with the memorable gift.

Georgian delegation has won 30 medals at second European games!
Second European games - "Minsk 2019" was closed solemnly. The ceremony was hosted at "Dinamo Stadium". The Olympic team of 50 countries ran through state flags to 22,000 spectators. Iakob Kajaia, a Greek-Roman-style wrestler, became the vice champion at the European Championship.
