The article ”Georgian Science Pays Price of Conflict” published in “ Nature” journal August 2008, touches upon the disturbance of development of science in georgia that followed Russian occupation. Russian forces have bombed Gori university and schools. The Russian airforce began bombing a military base between Dmanisi and Tbilisi. Most foreign researchers who have been involved in international research projects have now left the country.
