With the initiative and support of the Ministry of
Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, LEPL "Creative
Georgia" is pleased to announce a competition for the Venice 58th Art
Exhibition.
A press conference was held at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and
Sport of Georgia regarding this topic.
The event was led by First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and
Sport of Georgia Mikheil Giorgadze and the Director of Creative Georgia - Ana
Riaboshenko.
The Venice International Art Biennale is the largest and most prestigious
exhibition of contemporary art, founded in 1895 and has been active for over
120 years. The 58th Art International Exhibition will be held in Venice, Italy,
from May 11 to November 24, 2019
The main theme of the 2019 exhibition signifies - “May
You live in Interesting Times”. Head Curator - Ralph Rugoff.
“May You Live in Interesting times” will unite the works of the artists who
will allow the viewer to re-imagine the objects, images, gestures and various
situation.
"The 58th International Art Exhibition will underline the general
approaches to the creation of art and the perception of art in society, whilst
encompassing the enjoyment and triggering critical thinking. Artists who think
likewise, often give different meaning to the facts, thus deepening the connection
by giving facts additional content.
Georgian National Pavilion
amounts to a total area of 74 sq. meters. The space is allocated at one of the Biennale’s main
exhibition area - "Arsenale". The winning project will be given an
amount of 160,000 GEL.
Receiving applications for the competition began on September 12, 2018 and will
be completed by October 26 of the same year at 17:00, sharp. Competition
commission will reveal the winning and contingency projects within 10 working
