A presentation of “Teacher’s Book”, an
auxiliary textbook was held for teachers at Teacher House. Tamar
Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science and Gia Mamulashvili, Head of
National Center for Teacher Professional Development introduced the textbook to
the guests.
A
new school is being built in village Abano, Kareli Municipality. Tamar
Sanikidze, Minister of Education, Davit Narmania, Minister of Regional
Development and Infrastructure and Paata Zakareishvili, Head of the
Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and
Civic Equality visited the site and met with the school representatives and the
builders.
Registration deadline for those who wish to pass examinations in the form of externat, was approved with the Order of Minister N170 of February 10, 2014. The period for registration starts on February 14, 2014 and ends on February 21, 2014. Period for examinations shall start on March 6, 2014 and last till March 21. 2014.
For the first time in Georgia, American
universities together with Georgian state universities will carry out
educational programs in engineering and natural sciences. Alumni shall receive
diploma of an American university.
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between LLC “Blood
Bank” at Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital and the Ministry of Education and
Science of Georgia. Within the framework of the abovementioned Minister of
Education Tamar Sanikidze and the Ministry staff donated blood for the
children (age: 0-8)suffering from leukemia and other severe pathologies.

In response to the controversial statements
spread in the Media, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia would
like to clarify that the Compact worth of 140 million USD was signed between
the Government of Georgia and the USA MCC on the 26th of July.

Competition “I am the Ombudsman” 2013 ended. Today, participants of the

The first donors coordination meeting of 2014was organized by

World Education Forum taking place since January 20 in London is over. Education leaders of the world and among them, the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, had an opportunity to visit BETT Show at ExCel Centre.
A working meeting on the topic of inclusive vocational education was organized at vocational college “Spectri”. First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ketevan Natriashvili, directors of vocational colleges, field experts, stakeholders and the organizations participated in the meeting.
A two-day Conference was held on the topic of strengthening social partnership in Georgia. The Conference was opened by First Deputy Minister Ketevan Natriashvili.
The delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia held a number of meetings in London as part of the World Education Forum. Tamar Sanikidze held individual meetings with Education Ministers of different countries, experts of science management and professors in the field of pedagogical education.
World Education Forum 2014 is taking place in London from January 20. The Forum is attended by 133 delegations among them, 101 ministers of education. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia and Deputy Minister Lia Gigauri are attending the Forum. The visit was arranged by the British Council.

Orientation and Career-planning Program”. The Program intended for senior
pupils of basic and secondary levels shall start from 2014.

Agency made a presentation in village Abano, Kareli Municipality on the
construction of a new school.
The
Ministry of Education and Science shall finance studies of the aggrieved
students who live in nearby villages of the borderline. For this reason,
Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze raised a question on the
Government Session to pass amendments bill to the Law on Higher Education as
soon as possible.

The EU-financed project “Quality Enhancement and Capacity-Building Programme in VET Sector of Georgia” has been running since 2012 with the initiative of National Center for Quality Enhancement of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Italian organization “IFOA” has been implementing the program.

Electronic document flow system –
eflow is functioning at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The
Program facilitates the flow of documents among legal entities of public law,
educational resource centers and public schools.

Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia announces the beginning of
registration process from November 14 to November 20.
A
competition “Georgian Calligraphy” was announced with the initiative of the
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and National Centre of
Manuscripts. Deputy Minister of Education and Science Lia Gigauri and Director
of National Centre of Manuscripts Buba Kudava held a special briefing.
European
Training Foundation (ETF) organized a working meeting on the topic of
“Recognition of Informal Education” within the framework of the Project
“Life-long vocational training in Eastern Europe”.
Academic year for vocational
educational programs started on November 4, 2013. Teaching/learning process
shall start in all State-based vocational education colleges and higher
education institutions carrying out vocational programmes by the end of the week.
A work meeting of the Special Commission reviewing cases of
persons dismissed on political grounds was held in Kakheti. The meetings were organized
in Gurjaani and Telavi and hearings
of the authors of written complaints were held by the Commission.

Svaneti who have completed basic level (7th, 8th and 9th grades) with high performance were
awarded with personal computers from the Ministry of Education and Science of
Georgia.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is carrying out
a project – Implementation of Inclusive Education in Vocational Education
System, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Research of Norway.
In 2013, inclusive education has been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia as one of the main priorities. Consequently, the Ministry is carrying out a number of important projects for pupils with special educational needs, among them is “Inclusive Education Support Program”.

Three-day seminar for supporting vocational
education development organized by the German Society for
International Cooperation (GIZ) is currently under way and shall last till October 24.
