One of the political parties yesterday disseminated
information that school resource officers had a right to carry a weapon. Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia states that the
school resource officers have right to carry only handheld transceiver and
metal detector out of other special means.
Resource officers from Batumi public schools
visited Batumi boarding school and presented the schoolchildren with the gifts. Within the frame of the event, schoolchildren made

Final workshop in Georgian Sign Language was held at No.203 Tbilisi Deaf

USAID supported project “Supporting Equal Opportunities for People with

portable computers to all second graders of the school. Minister made this
decision on February 3 after visiting the new building of the school.

public schools will be equipped with 450 laboratory units till March, 2011.

The Head of National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement Davit

In 2011, upon their
choice, all certified teachers will have opportunity to take English Language
and Computers Exam, overcome a minimum competency level in language and
computer skills and get additional salary.
The Ministry of Education and
Science of Georgia clarifies the principles of division of classes at public
schools and states that according to the Georgian legislation and National Curriculum
public schools of Georgia have the right to divide the classes in case if the
number of students in the class is over 35.

Liberty Bank joined the project Safe and Healthy School in April 2010.
According to the current data, the Bank implements it most successfully.
In the frame of the project, Liberty Bank has already provided around
30,000 schoolchildren with the credit cards and they are able to use
them only on the school territory.
Deputy Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia, Irine Kurdadze opened 2010 summarizing academic and
professional summit. More than 10 reports were presented at the summit,
organized by the University of Georgia. Implemented projects of 2010 and the
planned innovations were discussed at the summit.
MES identified the best
schoolchild, teachers, school principal, Resource Officers, private and public
school as well as the Head of the resource center of 2010 year.
