A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation to promote the development of general education.
The memorandum was signed by Ekaterine Dgebuadze, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, and Zurab Kervalishvili, Director of the Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation.
The newly signed memorandum envisages cooperation in the field of general education in various aspects, including facilitating the introduction of a new national curriculum in schools, developing digital learning resources and platforms, developing methodological guidelines for parents, teachers and principals, and supporting a program for out-of-school students.
Within the framework of cooperation, the parties will also implement joint programs to improve the teaching of Georgian as a second language in non-Georgian language schools.
The Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation was established in 2017 and its mission is to promote the development of the education system in the country. It aims to raise the overall quality of education, improve education standards and increase access to education. More than 20 educational projects have been funded by the Foundation in the last 3 years, and financial investment in the education sector exceeds GEL 2 million.
