A
meeting was held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Minister

conference “European vision of education quality assurance”was organized by
National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement. The conference was opened
by Deputy Minister Giorgi Sharvashidze.

Gifted and Talented Youth Program.” 780 Gold Medals and 1041 Silver

Sulkhan Sisauri, Head of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation awarded authors of innovative projects within the competition “Leonardo Da Vinci 2013”.
Heating system has been installed in 57 schools in 2013. New heating system has been installed in 37 schools. The project is carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy.
Agricultural
products, wine, wood and thick felt works made in the process of practical work
by the students of vocational college “Aisi” were exhibited in the college.

Reporter for a Day” award ceremony was organized with the initiative of the EU
Delegation to Georgia and the support of the Ministry of Education and Science.
The
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is starting “Professional
Orientation and Career-planning Program”. The Program intended for senior
pupils of basic and secondary levels shall start from 2014.
A play was performed by children with special educational needs and their peers at Nodar Dumbadze State Central Children’s Theatre. Little actors performed “Little Prince” and “Christmas Carol.”
A
well-known French sommelier Marie Bordie is teaching aspects of wine service to
the student of Kachreti Vocational College “Aisi” with the support of the
French Embassy, French Institute in Georgia and the company GVS.
Giga
Umekashvili, Head of Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development
Agency made a presentation in village Abano, Kareli Municipality on the
construction of a new school.
The
Ministry of Education and Science shall finance studies of the aggrieved
students who live in nearby villages of the borderline. For this reason,
Minister of Education and Science Tamar Sanikidze raised a question on the
Government Session to pass amendments bill to the Law on Higher Education as
soon as possible.

National Curriculum Development Department of the Ministry of Educaiton and Scinece of Georgia arranged a closing event of “Integration of Disaster Risk Reduction Component in Education” – a grant project financed by the UNICEF.
The EU-financed project “Quality Enhancement and Capacity-Building Programme in VET Sector of Georgia” has been running since 2012 with the initiative of National Center for Quality Enhancement of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Italian organization “IFOA” has been implementing the program.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science Tamaz Marsagishvili and Deputy State Minister on Diaspora Issues Mukhran Gulaghashvili visited Georgian schools in the villages Ititala, Aliabadi and Kakhingilo with compact settlements of Georgians in Kakhi, Zakatala and Belakani and handed over school textbooks and auxiliary teaching materials to the pupils.

Electronic document flow system –
eflow is functioning at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The
Program facilitates the flow of documents among legal entities of public law,
educational resource centers and public schools.

order to provide the possibility of secondary enrollment for students, the
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia announces the beginning of
registration process from November 14 to November 20.
A
competition “Georgian Calligraphy” was announced with the initiative of the
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and National Centre of
Manuscripts. Deputy Minister of Education and Science Lia Gigauri and Director
of National Centre of Manuscripts Buba Kudava held a special briefing.
European
Training Foundation (ETF) organized a working meeting on the topic of
“Recognition of Informal Education” within the framework of the Project
“Life-long vocational training in Eastern Europe”.
Academic year for vocational
educational programs started on November 4, 2013. Teaching/learning process
shall start in all State-based vocational education colleges and higher
education institutions carrying out vocational programmes by the end of the week.
A work meeting of the Special Commission reviewing cases of
persons dismissed on political grounds was held in Kakheti. The meetings were organized
in Gurjaani and Telavi and hearings
of the authors of written complaints were held by the Commission.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is carrying out
a project – Implementation of Inclusive Education in Vocational Education
System, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Research of Norway.
In 2013, inclusive education has been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia as one of the main priorities. Consequently, the Ministry is carrying out a number of important projects for pupils with special educational needs, among them is “Inclusive Education Support Program”.

Three-day seminar for supporting vocational
education development organized by the German Society for
International Cooperation (GIZ) is currently under way and shall last till October 24.

University
entrants who were able to pass minimum
competency level in National Unified Examinations 2013 but were not enrolled on
any educational program in accordance with a ranking document, are able to

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has started a large scale project which envisages organization of visits in order to make presentations on current and planned projects.

Sanikidze and CEO of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag
Abdullayev have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the aim of implementing
joint projects.
Many important projects have been implemented in terms of
inclusive education since 2013, among them is access to quality education for
blind and visually impaired children.
School librarian standard for public as well as private school
librarians was created by National Curriculum Department of the Ministry of
Education and Science. Presentation on the topic was made by Natia Jokhadze,
Head of National Curriculum Department.

October 17, 2013 -Testing of approximately 15000 applicants
registered on vocational programs is under way in all Examination Centers throughout
Georgia. First Deputy Minister Ketevan Natriahsvili held a briefing and called
on the applicants to come to the Examination Centers on time and pass the test.

Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is to implement unprecedented
project- construction of nine new schools in different regions shall start from
November 2013.
Within the framework of the
project “Autumn Lectures in Tbilisi”, professors of German Institute of
Neuroscience and Medicine will deliver lectures at Georgian Technical
University during the period of October 12-26.
First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ketevan Natriashvili and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania in Georgia, H.E. Jonas Paslauskas visited Lithuanian Language Center at Georgian Technical University together with representatives of the Sejm.
Inclusive education teachers’ training was held at National Center for Teacher Professional Development. Teachers from Tbilisi and the regions attended the training.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia arranged a ceremony at National Center for Teacher Professional Development on October 5. The event was attended by up to 100 teachers from Tbilisi and the regions, their trainers and authors of magazine “Mastsavlebeli”.
Within the framework of “Inclusive Education Support Program”,
integrated class will start at Tbilisi public schools 64 and 166 for elementary
level pupils with sensory (hearing) and autism spectrum disorders.
Today, Deputy Minister of Education and Science and a member of Interagency Commission, Lia Gigauri visited the villages located near demarcation line, namely villages Kveshi, Ditsi and Ergneti.
Governmental
Commission was set up to respond to the needs of residents of the villages
located near the demarcation line. The decision on setting up the Commission
was made during the Government Session on October 1.
Representatives of National Association of School Resource
Officers are visiting Georgia. Georgian Resource Officers and psychologists are
being trained by the Association instructors during five days.
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze awarded with certificates 114 participants of the third stream of “Georgian Language for Future Success” program.
An event
dedicated to European Day of Languages was held for children aged 7-14 at
Tbilisi Youth Palace with the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Georgia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Ministry
of Sport and Youth Affairs and with the support of the EU Delegation to
Georgia.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia organized the 1st International Conference “Pre-School Education in Georgia- Reality and Prospects” with the support of UNICEF.
Another Conference for the teachers of vocational education institutions was held. The Conference was opened by the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ketevan Natriashvili.
