The annual international forum of members of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, ENQA, is taking place in Tbilisi on April 19-21, organized by the National Center for the Development of the Quality of Education of the State of Georgia.
Giorgi Amilakhvari addressed the audience and drew attention to the importance of holding the international forum in Georgia.
Giorgi Amilakhvari: "Our aspiration towards Europe is unchanged and today's forum is another important recognition that the educational space of Georgia is part of a large European educational family.
This is what the ENQA forum, which is being held in Tbilisi for the first time, is emphasizing today. Almost all heads of quality agencies of EU member states have arrived here. We will discuss the sharing of experience and practices implemented in EU countries. We will also talk about the achievements and challenges that we have in the education sector of Georgia today."
During his speech, the Minister also spoke about the achievements of the National Center for the Development of Education Quality and emphasized the importance of the Center gaining membership of the European Association of Quality Assurance Agencies (ENQA).
Within the framework of the forum, representatives of 32 European countries - heads of quality assurance agencies, European Quality Assurance Agencies Register (EQAR), Association of European Universities, European Students' Association, working group of the Bologna process and their employees will discuss current issues related to higher education policy and higher education quality assurance issues in the European space. issues and trends.
It should be noted that according to the decision of the Council of the European Association for Quality Assurance of Higher Education (ENQA), on April 25, 2019, the National Center for the Development of the Quality of Education was granted the status of a full member of ENQA for a period of 5 years. According to ENQA's assessment, the National Center for Education Quality Development is in full compliance with the quality assurance standards and guidelines of the European space of higher education (ESG 2015) and fully meets the main criteria for ENQA membership.
ENQA's expert group monitored the implementation of recommendations at the National Center for Education Quality Development in 2021. According to their assessment, all the recommendations of the centre have been fulfilled, thus the degree of harmonization of quality assurance mechanisms of higher education in Georgia has significantly increased in relation to the uniform standards and principles of quality assurance of the European space.
