During the meeting with school students and their parents, Minister highlighted the importance of learning the Georgian language. As Dimitri Shashkini stated, Ministry has published the Georgian language textbooks for ethnic minority schoolchildren in order to support their integration in Georgian society.

The 5^th level of Georgian textbooks for the ethnic minority school students have been published in the scope of the program “Georgian Language for Future Success” started by the initiative of the President. The aim of the program is to improve the knowledge of Georgian language among the ethnic minorities living in the regions of Georgia. By the end of the year, Ministry will develop and publish the Georgian textbooks for all 12 levels.

The textbook consists of a book and student’s exercise book. The textbook is supplemented with audio visual materials and computer games. Ministry has also developed the guidelines for teachers. Textbooks and teacher guidelines are distributed to schools free of charge.
