82 young Georgian Students will get US diploma in Tbilisi. San Diego State University Georgian program students were celebrated a start of a new academic year by the Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili,  the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze and the director of Millennium Challenge Account Magda Magradze.

The project San Diego State University-Georgia started in July 2014, when the cooperation memorandum was signed between San Diego State University and the government of Georgia. The program is being implemented under the compact of 140 million dollars by the Millennium Challenge Corporation. The aim of the program is to strengthen the staff and human capital relevant to requirements in the fields of engineering and technologies.

San Diego State university bachelor programs will be implemented in three Georgian leading universities. These are: Ivane Javakhishvili State University, Technological University of Georgia and Ilia State University. The specialities offered by San Diego University to Georgian students include: Bachelor's degree in chemistry / biochemistry; Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering; Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
