Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation announces competition for student inventors and researchers - "Leonardo da Vinci". The aim of the competition is to promote ongoing reforms within the general education institutions; Stimulation and perfection of learning process, stimulating interest in learning; thus encouraging students' interest towards innovations and science; Developing creative thinking and various practical skills.
The competition is held in compliance with the Decree N98 of the Government of Georgia as of 23 February 2011.
A student of VII-XII grade (public and private school) is eligible to participate in the competition.
Groups as well as individuals can submit their applications. The number of members of the group should not exceed three students of the relevant class (s). After the registration, the change of group members is inadmissible.
Each team can appoint a team leader who will coordinate the ongoing process, in conjunction with being the primary contact. Additionally, each member of the team should be able to fulfill the role of a speaker, and must be fully involved in the project. The final work should reflect the coordinated efforts of all members of the team. The team project will be evaluated by a set of specific rules and assessment criteria.
The same person cannot be the author or co-author of more than two submissions.Please keep in mind that only one victorious project will be fully funded. In case there is fake information presented in the project, the project will be automatically withdrawn from the competition.
Each team or a student must have a manager. A manager needs to be a teacher, a parent or a scientist. The head of the project should be in close contact with the students during the entirety of the project. Additionaly, the manager should be familiar with all relevant regulations concerning the safety of the project. Such research can include the use of various harmful chemical or biological substances.
If the research is carried out at the laboratory or in relation to the potentially dangerous biological and controlled substances, it is necessary to adequately guard the relevant regulations and restrictions and participate in the project under a supervision.
The participant of the competition is entitled to submit the application only in his / her authorship / or co-authorship.
