Owing to the negotiations between the Government of Georgia and the Asian Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank will implement a $50 million investment project aimed at developing human capital for better employment and the future success of the country.
Skills for Better Jobs Sector Development Program will be developed jointly by the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Georgia and will be implemented by the end of 2020. The program will focus on developing the infrastructure needed to develop skills in the education industry, introducing appropriate programs, in conjunction with increasing the involvement of the private sector in the education system through various methods.
The expected outcome of the program is the provision of quality education throughout Georgia, improved infrastructure, development of vocational skills and the introduction of a system-oriented approach. Emphasis will be placed on regional coverage and system inclusion within the program.
Today, the first working seminar was held with the participation of government agencies, vocational institutions, international organizations and the private sector, where the Asian Development Bank held an extensive presentation on the preparatory stages of the program, the goals of the program and the main directions planned. Detailed design of the project will be developed during 2020, whilst launching it by the end of 2020.
The First Deputy Minister, Irina Abuladze, presented the report on the involvement and role of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport in the planning and implementation of the project.
