The process of distributing textbooks to socially vulnerable
schoolchildren throughout Georgia has started. Georgian Post has already sent textbooks to Adjara region.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Giorgi Chakhnashvili
attended the process of delivering the textbooks to the region.
As Giorgi Chakhnashvili stated, all socially vulnerable schoolchildren
will get textbooks free of charge. Government of Georgia has allocated 8
million GEL to purchase 800 000
textbooks.
Textbooks
will be provided to I-VI graders whose families rating score is 70 000, as to
VII and XII graders, they will be awarded the textbooks in case their family
rating score is 57 000.
Form
next year, these textbooks will be kept at school libraries and other socially
vulnerable schoolchildren will have opportunity to use them.
