Owing to the initiative of the Ilia Vekua School of Physics and Mathematics N42 Public School, the Georgian national team participated in the 52nd International Chemistry Olympiad, financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The Olympiad was held in Belarus, where 22 national teams participating to reach the first place.

Students of Komarov School, in the form of a national team, have won several silver medals, diplomas and were placed amongst top 15, at the European Mathematical Olympiad. The Olympiad was held in Florence, Italy, where 195 students participated from around 52 countries. The Georgian team consisted of Tamar Korkotashvili, Tinatin Kokoshvili, Ana Onoprishvili and Mzia Abzandadze.
