
According
to the initiative of the President of Georgia, teaching of English language
will be launched from the first form in some pilot schools of Georgia. If the
piloting passes successfully, the project will be launched in all schools from
2011. Teachers, who will teach the first graders foreign language, passed the
special training.
English
language teachers of the pilot schools passed the two-day training - Teaching of English Language from the First
Year of the Primary School in “Bazaleti” Tourist Complex. First Deputy
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Koka Seperteladze met the
participants of the training.
The
main topics of the training were discussing the teaching standard at the
primary level, defining importance of the games for this level, introducing the
guideline of the teachers and methods, familiarizing with the practice of
effective usage of the copybooks.
Foreign
language teachers of Tbilisi, Batumi, Zugdidi, Mestia, Mtskheta and Kutaisi
took part in the workshop, held on September 10-11. These teachers are involved
in the pilot program. They will offer English language teaching program to
3,000 first graders from the new academic year.
